COVID-19 vaccine to be offered on campus
Oglethorpe University is pleased to announce that our current COVID-19 testing vendor will offer the Moderna vaccine on campus to members of the Oglethorpe community beginning this week.
A drive-thru site on campus will be available for faculty, staff and students (both PACAs and non-PACAs) to receive the vaccine on Thursday, May 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Friday, May 14 from noon-2 p.m. (time updated since original announcement) in the parking lot next to the turf field. If you are a non-PACA planning to participate, please fill out the appropriate form for requesting access to campus on the COVID-19 website. Once on campus, check in at the front gate and you will be directed toward the drive-thru site.
The Moderna vaccine is a two-dose vaccine. If you have received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine and intend to come to campus to receive your second dose, please remember to bring your COVID-19 vaccination card. If you are receiving your first dose, no action is needed. Please be prepared to present an ID and insurance card (if insured) upon your arrival. There will also be an opportunity to receive the second dose on campus in June.
Faculty and staff members planning to participate may bring a passenger to also receive the vaccine. Please note that the Moderna vaccine is meant only for individuals 18 years and older.
Additionally, the Pfizer vaccine, which has now been approved for ages 12-15, will be offered at the Brookhaven MARTA Station beginning Saturday, May 15. More information on this vaccine offering can be found at https://www.covidcarega.com/.
